Innovating Manufacturing for a Sustainable and Inclusive Future

INTRODUCTION

The IEEE Society on Social Implications of Technology (SSIT), Malaysia Chapter is proud to announce the 1st IEEE International Conference on Sustainable Manufacturing and Mechanical Technology (SUMMET) 2027, which will be held as a hybrid conference in May 2027 at PARKROYAL Penang Resort, Penang, Malaysia. Local presenters are required to present onsite, while international presenters may choose either physical or virtual presentation.
Under the theme “Innovating Manufacturing for a Sustainable and Inclusive Future,” SUMMET 2027 will bring together researchers, engineers, industry professionals, policymakers, and academics from around the world to exchange ideas, present the latest research findings, and discuss emerging challenges and opportunities in sustainable manufacturing, advanced mechanical technologies, and their societal impact. The conference will feature multiple technical tracks covering a broad spectrum of topics, including sustainable manufacturing, smart manufacturing, Industry 5.0, artificial intelligence, robotics, advanced materials, energy systems, human-centered engineering, engineering ethics, and technology for sustainable development.
SUMMET 2027 aims to foster interdisciplinary collaboration between academia, industry, and government while promoting responsible technological innovation that contributes to a more sustainable, resilient, and inclusive future.

Call For Paper

Work in progress, research papers, survey papers, application and theoretical papers, poster presentations and position papers for the workshop are all welcome. Full papers, with a maximum length of six pages, adhering to the IEEE conference paper formatting should be submitted using a separate submission link available on website along with paper and presentation template.     All accepted and presented papers will be included in the conference proceedings and considered for inclusion in the IEEE Xplore® Digital Library, contingent upon meeting IEEE quality standards. Papers successfully published in IEEE Xplore eligible for indexing by SCOPUS.
